Enrolling into the Summer Development Program has been a great experience for me so far. I thought that I would be attending Southern Miss for the summer, but I just thought that by attending Mississippi State it be much easier. That way in the fall all I would have to do is transfer my grades over to Southern. I also thought that this would be a great way for me to get used to life on campus without my parents and the whole college experience period.
I like that this program offer alot of help when it comes to work. Math is my strongest subject so hopefully that will not be a class I have to worry about. The only classes I think I will have a problem in is English and Reading. In High School these two subjects were my weakest. English has always been a challenge for me especially when it comes to the writing part. It always hard for me to pick a topic to write about and even when I have a topic I lose all train of thought. That has always been complicated to me. Reading is also something I have trouble with because I do not read first off and the vacobulary part really kill me. I noticed that the first time I was given work in my reading class I had missed some of the questions cause I did not pay attention let along read enough. I hope that I develop somr good writing skills as well as some great reading skills. I want by the end of the semeter to have a better vocabulay also.
I am not used to being without my mother, I am so used to her being there to get me up in the morning for school. I realized that I am a college student now so there are some things I have to learn to do on my own, like get myself up, create better study habits and try to make it to my classes on time
