English was not a favorite subject of mine at first. I really did not start getting into it until I was in the eighth grade. We had this writing test we had to do and I had never written anything before in my life. I thought that I had done horrible, but in the end when I got my test results, they turned out pretty good.
I began writing alot after that experience, but I did not really get that deep into my writing until I entered high school. I realized that when I wrote freelance I had alot of mistakes with grammer and puncatation. My tenth grade english teacher helped me with that. She used to always say think about the topic first, then when you start writing to take your time. When I write I noticed that I wrote so fast that when I looked back into the story or poem I was writng about at that point of time, I had made tones of mistakes. Ms Upton, my tenth grade teacher would give me my paper back most of the time with failing grades. She would always write in red ink saying that I made careless mistakes and that I needed to take my time.
I took her advice very seriously after that. My eleventh grade year my writing became more indept. I became real careful when I wrote and made sure that I took my time and focused more on the topic. Slowly, but surely my writing began to develop.
I never really had to think about what I wrote until I came to college. Usually when I got the first sentence done the rest would just come to me. Since I have been doing this blog the writing have became a little more challenging than I am used to. I literally have to think about the topic before I writing it, and it literally take a good fifteen minutes just to do that. I hope that by the end of the summer I will be well prepared to write a better paper.
English was not my favorite subject until I was in the 11th and 12th Grade...But now I really enjoy writing essays, annotative bibliographies, and paragraphs.
ReplyDeleteWell I am glad that you finally started taking your time when you are writing your stories. you write the best stories to me and I am glad you started reading over your stories when you write. I think that will only better you stories and your writing skills.
ReplyDeleteI understand where you are coming from me and you are in the same boat. Writing we just got to do and deal with it. I’m glad that you like writing now because I also do too, so we can push each other and make each other writing skills better.-Ronald
ReplyDeleteI also had a teacher that helped me on my writing skills. I feel like when a teacher always on you, then they feel that you have a chance or that they see something in you. My ninth grade was the one that stayed on me the most so I guess she seen more in me than I seen in myself. I sense that your teacher was one that took the time out to see did you understand it. You should be happy that you had a teacher that really cared about you and your education.
