There are a lot of people that influence me on writing, but the most important person is my English teacher in my eleventh and twelfth grade year in high school. She helps me a lot in English but in my eleventh grade year I took her class called creative writing. I hated to write because I was not good in English so I decide to get in this class to better myself English and writing. I had a bad spelling problem, and I could not form a complete sentence well. I felt like this was going to be a good challenge for me. In the beginning of this class I went to my teacher and told her that I had a problem in English, and that I could barley form a sentence. And by me having this problem, I was barely able to pass my English classes. She told me this was a good way for her to help me and for me to help myself in getting prepared to write my essay during my twelfth grade year.
So our first topic was to tell her all about myself, but it could only be a page long and we had thirty minutes out of 50 minutes of class. Just because I had a problem she did not treat me any different in class she just told me do to my best, and so I did. I took her class twice a day, but for English Three instead of me doing other work she helped me with my mistakes on my paper from her class earlier, and she explained to me why certain things are a certain way. As time went by I got better at writing paragraphs and by her helping, and showing me, and taking time out to make sure I understood the parts of the paragraph. I truly thank you Ms. Goldman for taking time out with me and getting me where I am now. You have really helped me improve on my writing.
That is wonderful that your teacher helped you with your problem. Receiving help from from some one is a glorious experience.
ReplyDeleteRobin I can understanding where you are coming from, I took creative writing during my tenth grade year. Creative writing is a class to help you with your brainstorming, develops thoughts, as well as help improve your writing skills. Robin I am glad that you chose to attend the creative writing class , because everything you do bascially do is dealing with writing.
ReplyDeleteGirl I understand were you are coming from girl from because even though english was an easy subject for me,I hated to write. Writing just came so hard for me. I respect that you had took creative writing to get extra help, because I didnt do that but I should have. I was always one of those people who was scared to ask for help or go and get tutoring.
ReplyDeleteI understand this passage completely. My English Teacher also played a great role in my desire to write. English can influence tons of students to do anything the student's mind is in task and ready to research a lot. Thank the lord for great High School English teachers.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your passage. From my past experiences, I can realate to that feeling. But attending the creative writing class was a great idea. Most people would probably give up, but you kept going and I'm proud of you. I should've also attended one, but my school didn't offer one. That's why I'm thankful teachers who care about there students. Rodney Winters
