Writing has been apart of my familys life as long as i can remember from me writing lyrics to hip hop songs to articles now blogs. my family is very heavy on writing skills and speech because i will never know who i will run into and they might ask for my work. Most of my family has been in areas of journalism and has spread me great advice throughout the years up until college.I have a few expierences when i ALMOST sealed a deal for the P.S.3 theme song and i sat in on a session with Sony Entertainment helping creating a verse for me to rap to for the popular video game system, Playstation 3. From hip hop, i landed myself back into the books focusing on my dreams to become a sports journalist. I wrote for my school newspaper which reached a professor from University Of Iowa and Northwestern university. I had a phone interview with a editor from the University Of Iowa discussing possible oppurtunities for me to become a writer and it influenced me because i realized i will soon become one step closer to my dream. Nortwestern university has taught me alot from my visit 2 years ago. I met with a english professor at North western, Ms.andrews. She pulled up my blog site and sat with me and gave me a lesson on mechanics writing structure style, and excitement of reading. the reason why i was influenced because northwestern is allegedly the #2 school in the country for journalism and that is my major. Writing is something to do to express myself through feelings and emotions of my everyday lively hood. My favorite style of writing is persuasive because i like to express opinions to others and make them change their train of thought.

Keenan I like where you coming from when you say writing is something to do to express yourself,thats how I look at it too. When you write pretend that you the person you writng about tell from your point of view. Its seems that writing has been a good eperience for you and me,so while we're here at this Summer Program we both should put our ideas together on writng experiences and soon we're become great writers.

ReplyDeleteI think you should never be discouraged about people opinion, no matter what you do. We all in college now and am sure you have learned thru your mistake and begin to be better at whatever you do. So this summer school i know you will learn a lot that will help you succeed.
