MY SUMMER EXPERIENCE-NI'KEVIA WELLS

At first when I came here I thought that I would not like it, but it turned out better than I expected. I made alot of friends as well as learned alot in my classes. This experience has showed me what I have to look forward to when I come here in the fall.

I think that one life lesson I have learned, was how to balance my money. I never really used money wisely. I mean when I did have it I spent it on things that were not important. I remember one week when both my parents refused to give my sister and I money. We had about forty dallors between us and they told us that would have to hold until next week. The thing about the situation was that we had no cleaning supplies as well as food in our room. For that week instead of going to Burger king or the Union to eat, we went to Dallor Tree and brought food, paper plates and cups, as well as cleaning supplies for the room. We spent about thirty dallors that week and had ten left, five a piece for the both of us. This was difficutly, because I had never had to go through this before usually my parent were there to help out, but that particular week they just could not.

From this situation, I learned that I could not just spend my money on anything, that include going out to eat or to the Union everyday. I plan on budgeting my money in the future that means only getting what I need and what I can afford, and putting a little aside just in case. This will really help me financially in the future.
