Life Lessons-Keenan Mathews

I have learned a lot of lesson's this summer but the lesson I have learned was to accept people's culture. I experienced something totally different from where I am from and that's Mississippi. Even though I traveled a lot during my life, mississippi showed me how to live life as a regular teen or a regular man. During S.D.P., 98% are mississippi residents. there are only 2 people, other than me who is from different citys. I felt it was different because the rest of the students can relate to each other vs. "the city boys". everyone has the same culture and i felt as if no one was there for me because of the stuff that i stood for vs the stuff that the other kids stood for or they believed in. Even though i disagreed on things that the other kids do, I told myself I will always stay true to my word as being me. I wil never "copy& paste" myself, clone myself to no-one else, nor become another person. it is true that it takes a true follower to become a great leader. In my case, I have already expierenced that. In conclusion, this has been a great expierence for me. The people here are all great people even though i had situations with certain everyone has welcomed me into their lives and shared life expierences and their lifestyles. As for me im a city boy so I didnt understand how they lived at first but as I begun to listen and practice their lives. I t is a little more interesting because of their hobbies and the way they have fun is different from a city person fun. This program is all worth it. I would like to thank for most, Ms.Daniels for letting me get the oppurtunity to expierence this. "MAMA beth" for her touch as a mother and helping me understand the things I didnt understand in High school. Mr jamario for having patients in me and helping me understand time and time again. Last but not least Mrs.Dechart has helped me with my gramatical errors. I feel like mrs.Dechart has helped me out alot and it is a big deal to me because i want to become a better writer and a popular journalist as of now i give the credit to her because she helped me out on all the mistakes that I needed help in. I never asked for the weak areas i needed help they just came about.
