The reason I enrolled in the Summer Developmental Program

The reason I enrolled in the Summer Developmental Program is because I did not take Geometry my Freshman year of high school. I took the ACT twice. Once in October and another time in April. I also took the Accuplacer Test four times. I scored high in both test but without the Geometry class, I failed to take, I could not attend regular classes. West Lauderdale High School allowed me to simply skip Geometry and head straight into Algebra 2. I never really knew skipping Geometry would effect me in such a way. If I knew what I know now, I would have easily taken that course.

The Summer Developmental Program here at Mississippi State University is a great program. I am glad I have enrolled in it. This program is built to break down student's abilities and gear them towards getting ready for what the other classes are going to have to offer. Also, students, who are enrolled in this summer program, can start from the basics and work themselves up to the level that is expected of them in the future classes. Another thing a student can take advantage of, while they are enrolled in this program, is the knowledge of knowing where everything is on campus and what campus life is really about.

All students should be able to start college on the acceptable level. That is why I am glad I am here at this Summer Developmental Program. The motto in this program is "No Student Left Behind." The teachers here are friendly and willing to help you succeed in every way possible. The students are also friendly and well knowledgeable. Everyone is on the same page and we all help a struggling student. Mississippi State University's Summer Developmental Program has showed me the guide lines to succeed in college.
