Over the past seven weeks that I have been here in the summer development program, the most challenging unit for me was the math unit on Linear equations and inequalities in two variables. This unit was challenging to me, because first of all I am not good in the math area secondly I don’t find math interesting and last I just don’t understand it other than counting money. The unit linear equations deal with slope and y-intercept. Also you graph each on a graph which you have to create yourself.
The unit with linear equations was a challenge to me, because I had to actually think and take time out to understand what the problem is asking and work it out for myself. There were problems where you had to have a calculator but we could use one period, which was kind of nerve wrecking for me. This unit also became a challenge to me when it came down to the simplifying the equations into its simplest form.
Another reason why this unit is challenging to me is that you can’t actually study math, either you know it or you don’t its jus that simple. The challenging thing about math is when you don’t apply yourself, kind of like I do. I don’t mainly apply myself and I think that part of the reason why certain areas of math are a challenge to me.
Math is a common subject for a person to have issues in during the school year. Sometimes when we see numbers, we tend to do too much while trying to figure out the answer. All Math problems can be broken down to simple and smaller things.
ReplyDeleteMath can very challenging to even the smartest person. We tend to get different equations mixed up with different formulas. Just like Jalen said we can use the process of elimination and find the solution. Its just a matter of taking your time and doing it correctly. I didn't apply myself while taking the ACT and that's why I'm in this program. Don't do what I did or you won't be back in the fall.
ReplyDeleteI agree toni, I have problems with the exact same thing you have problems with. Math I would a have to say is my worse subject. I do not get how it comes so natural to others, but to me it is so forien. Exspecially when I am in class I be super lost, with you right beside me.____Jordyn Riddle
ReplyDeleteToni i agree strongly with you i had problems with the same thing its so crazy i swear but yeah keep it smooth-Ronald
ReplyDeleteI agree math can be very dificult at times. On the other hand, my biggest problem in math was not being able to use a calulator it was using it to much. For example,I would rather have the problem worked out on paper so I will know how the problem was resolved for future refrences.
