I believe once i came into the Summer Developemental Program (SDP)my biggest challenges were math because I didnt quite understand it and i didnt have the courage to stop and tell my teachers "Hey! i dont understand, may you go over it?" I was always afraid about my fellow classmates and what they would say because i didnt want no one to think that i would slow there past down. Once i got to MSU. My first reaction was "man this is going to be hard, My teacher doesnt care about me knowing it, and my final thought was he will not slow down for me if I was to ask for help. As i transitioned into the class it started off real simple but I still was asking questions just to be more sure of things and also i wanted to master my lessons; because I know some how or some way i will have to come back to that lesson or I would have to rebuild on that lesson. Due to tutorial and my teach Mr.Will, I have increased my math skills alot because it feel as if he is teaching individuals and no one is afraid to ask a question. No matter if the question is simple or if it make sense as regards to the lesson, he still would answer it. Mr.will can always sense if we dont know the lesson because he would come up to you and ask if you understood the lesson or did you get the problem i just did. If you say no,he would go over the problem as many times as you asked because at the end of the day he want us to leave on 7/29/11 as a success student. the subject that I had problems with so far is the quadratic formula. the reason why my teacher used to teach us many ways instead sticking to the script. when they taught us one way and they gotten confused so as I, as a result i never understood the material for the quadratic formula. In conclusion, this unit isnt so bad you have to pay attention and ask questions in order for u to understand the material.

ReplyDeleteKeenan, I do the same thing you do sometimes. I do not stop my teacher to tell him that I do not understand. Sometimes I feel ashamed to ask questions. That is how I was in high school also. I wish that I would of spoke up in high school and maybe I would not be having a hard time now.____Jordyn Riddle
