Challenging Challenges-RanDarius Cooley
There have been many challenging units during these last seven weeks. To begin with, in my English the most challenging unit was finding subjects. I had trouble finding these because while in school my teachers did not take the time to teach this to me. I did not understand how to do it, but when I asked for help they would tell me they are not about to go back and reteach it to me. But during this summer I have learned a lot about subjects, For example, I learned that a subject is the who or what word that performs the action or the who or what about which the statement is made. In addition to that I learned every sentence must contain a two basic elements: a subject and a verb. Such as, The red car belongs to Kaleb. The car is what word about which a statement is made. I learned also that some sentences may have more than one subject and may be conjoined by the word “and”. For example, “ My mother and father are not together.” (Mother and Father is the compound subject. Also sometimes a –ing word can be a subject of a sentence. To illustrate, Walking hurts my legs badly. To be specific, Walking is the word that performs the action. Now that I understand I can find more interesting and easier for me to understand.

I agree, finding the subjects can sometimes get kind of challenging depending on the type of sentence you have. For the most part subjects are pretty easy to find when you have an easy sentence.
