I decided to attend this Summer Development Program because I wanted to better prepare myself for college in the Fall. Sometimes we often think that we are already prepare for something, but there is always room for improvement in anything. Coming straight out of High School and a long long Summer Break can effect your usually style of learning. Taking breaks longer than two or three weeks from something can be a difficult task to overcome once you get your body use to something. It is similar to staying up late every night during the Summer Break then trying to go to sleep at ten o'clock the day before you have to go to school. This is why I recommend everyone should attend Summer Courses at their college every Summer. A person will finish faster and it keeps your mind and body sharp and alert.
Another reason I wanted to attend this Summer Developmental Program is because I believe that my high school did not prepare me enough for college. Most of the students who graduated from my high school that try to attend college, do not succeed. The academic level was very low simply because they would just pass everyone. It was like that thru my Junior year until the school board fired our headmaster and teacher. My Senior year was different. The academic level had risen to another level. The percentages of people actually attending out of Senior class rose also. Before my graduating class of 2011, no one had ever attended a four year college before. I became the first one to ever get accepted.
I am proud to be attending this Summer Developmental Program. A person should not be afraid to better their skills for college because there is always room for improvement in anything. It will not hurt to start small and then work your way up the ranks. Every step you take will help you in the long run.
