Increasing Learning Skills -- Rodney Winters
Since the program has started all of my learning skills have increased. Before I entered the program my writing skills were no where near where they are now. I couldn't write paragraphs nor essays to perfection. I puncuaited my sentences correctly, but sometimes I might make a mistake here and there. Sometimes I make the sentences run-ons without noticing it. When I started the program I noticed many of my mistakes. I've learned to write correctly and proof read my essay or paragraphs right. In addition, I've learned to just read and take my time in writing thing papers and always proof read when I have finished. Secondly, is my speaking skills. My speaking skills have came a long way, if I think about it. I wasn't using the proper english. For example, I used bra instead of my brother's real name. Speaking with abbreviated words is such a hard habit to break. I was using slang and using words that weren't understandable to others. Similar to writing, this program has increased my speaking skills tremendously. I speak very well with a understandable tone. Pronounciating words isn't as bad as it used to be. Using abbreviated words is not a habit like it use to be. I also address people by their names and not by bra, a girl, or shawty. I've realized talking with the right speaking skills makes you a better person. And people give you more respect. Finally, is my thinking skills. Before entering the program I didn't take time out to think before I did. Thinking was a process that I usually hate to deal with. For example, I dislike thinking when I'm trying to decide on a color of a shirt. My thinking were just horrible, because of my laziness and lack of caring. The program has taught me that thinking is an important part of life. Thinking really impacts your life even if its minor or major situations. Just always think before you do so you won't regret some things in life. I'm just thankful for receiving knowledge like this.

Rodeny I agree, I couldn't write a paragraph nor could I write an essay with out errors and using correct puncuation. Now that I am here I feel that my writing skills are increasing as well.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you rod, I have learned alot as well as refreashed my memory of what I have learned in High School. I write all the time and did not realize how many mistakes I made until I entered this program. Now the speaking thing is still in progress, I am a country girl who tends to drag my words alot, but I am working on it though.... Ni'kevia wells
ReplyDeleteMy boy rod, You are doing well as far as speaking and you are advanced when it comes to speaking and english. I have learned alot by being in the Summer program. If theyre wasnt a summer program i wouldnt be able to be prepreared like i am now. When we get over here in the fall, we'll be more advanced
