we all speak differently-- jordyn riddle
Although we all was born and raised in America, we all speak differenntly. from our accents to certain word meanings, it all is different. you will find the southeren people tend to drag out words, as oppose to people up north who pronounce their words to the tee. even different races are different when it comes to speaking. you well find that even though some asians were born in america thedy will still talk differently with an accent and all. i also think that it is also the way one is brought up. a child takes in everything from its surrounndings, including language. during the learning stages of a child which is in between the ages of birth to the age of four (for language). you learn how to speak with in that age. from your accent to your vocabulary every one learns how to speak like that. as we older from the age of four til death, we are constantly learning new vocabulary. also when i said dword meanings i was referring to how down south and the north. eample being the phrase 'your crazy', up north they say 'your tweaking'. to us down south tweaking means your putting last minute touches on something. but up north it means your crazy. so everybody use different language to describe different things. although we all speak differently, we all communicate well, because we all speak english.

I fully agree with you when it comes to people speak differently. Sometimes people do speak differently. One person could be use to be speaking one way, but the others talk a different way. We will just have to get use to a change is our environments and the people we meet in life.
ReplyDeleteYes Indeed, I grew up in the country were we had to go out and holler across the yard to my neighbors and family. I learned to talk like old people who halfway pronounce words correctly. While I was young I use to ask my mom about going places I would say "Are we going over yonder today?". When I started school my speech changed. and I say the SOUTH. oh my.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I agree jay I drag my words alot not caring pronounce the whole words. I have also noticed that about alot of my cousins they do not care to pronounce there words, and they also speak very fast. We southern people can be very country.
ReplyDeleteI agree Jordyn, i like it when the south people interact with the north people. yes its different vocabulary but when we get together we can teach each other how we both communicate, as well as teaching each other our different terms and vocabulary. it teaches us different diversities also.
